It’s been a whirlwind of fun here at Micah since the moment the kids stepped off the buses and settled into their summer home. During the first night of camp, our Unit Leaders and Team Leaders were introduced with silly songs before all the counselors came up to show each unit’s spirit with a cheer. After B15 and G14 (our oldest campers) kicked off the summer by singing “The Micah Song,” all campers headed back to their bunks to get to know each other better.

The next morning, campers traveled around camp by bunk as they got to know the lay of the land. It turns out that the new Micah Ninja Warrior Course is all the rage around here. Kids were also so excited to test out our new Tumbl Trak at gymnastics and attempt to kick a field goal through our new uprights. Play auditions went “swimmingly” and the cast of The Little Mermaid has finally been set.

Our first Shabbat service on Friday night took place in our gorgeous outdoor chapel as the sun fell behind the tree line and the lake sparkled. On Saturday morning, we all enjoyed a special buffet breakfast, Critter & Prowler Field Day Fun, morning blessings in the Chapel, Tikkuna Matata activities (our time to make the world a better place), and got the chance to meet their Camp Sisters and Spazzaweewee Brothers. Cookout, campfire, and Havdalah brought our first Shabbat to an end.

With the start of individual schedules this week, camp is abuzz and everyone is looking forward to an amazing week ahead.
