I love that everyone treats each other like they are their best friend.
My first summer at camp I was 8 and going into 3rd grade. When I got there I knew 100% that this was my place. My second summer I was signed up for one session but I kept asking to stay for longer. I ended up staying both sessions my second year and every year since. It gets better every year. When camp is over I think about going back every day. I count down the days till I’m back with my buddies. The counselors are the best and can adjust in quick time and help you with things. Our whole crew has a lot of inside jokes. There are a lot of camp traditions like the 4th of July hoe down, camp records day and Micah Cribs. My favorite tradition is ka he la la.
I’ve always had amazing camp siblings and when everyone is all together everyone respects what someone says and it matters to everyone. My older sister was also a camper. During the summer we were on gold team together. My sister and I also both celebrate our birthday at camp. You get to design your own cake which is cool. I can always talk with her about camp during the year.
My favorite activities are skateboarding, guitar, woodworking, drums and the waterfront. One of the things I’m proud of from last summer was when we stole the poker table from B15 and put it in our bunk. Last summer was my 4th year. We played a lot of poker and told a lot of jokes. I love having Shabbat at camp- eating the challah, song session, Saturday morning buffet and Rabbi stories. I love the Rabbi stories and those don’t get old. I love unit nights, bunk night and all the evening activities. Saturday night cookout with the band and campfire is really fun. I miss my friends so much.
